Stalls at Sani Abacha Street Market Allegedly Vandalized by Sierra Leone Police By Capitol Times |  12 hours ago |  In the early hours of Friday 12th August 2022, Capitol Times Newspaper received an intelligence of overnight demolition of market stalls at Sani Abacha Street, one of the famous street market in Freetown. Kargbo, a local trader at Abacha intimidated this medium that they woke up very early this morning to take out their businesses, only to arrived and find their@ stalls completely destroyed by unknown people. She expressed dissatisfaction over the issue. Meanwhile, the Mayor of Freetown City Council (FCC), Yvonne Aki-Sawyer has refuted Social Media claims of not participating in the demolition of market stalls at Sani Abacha Street in Freetown. Curfew declared in Sierra Leone's capital Freetown amid violent anti-government protests  Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Freetown, Sierra Leone on Wednesday, protesting inflation and the rising cost of living in the West African country, according to people. The protests grew violent at times. Graphic images and video of battered and seriously injured protesters and some members of security forces could be seen on social media. Security forces were also seen firing guns at citizens.
